Zen and the Great art of Winning!

Posted on Dec 19th, 2007 by Chandra : Nucleus of the Absolute Chandra

Once Zen, the favourite disciple of Buddha said to his colleagues, "Nobody can defeat me in my whole life". Immediately the fellow disciples eagerly asked him, "Zen, please reveal your invisible secret, we also do not want to get defeated".

Zen replied solemnly, "It is impossible to defeat me".

The fellow disciples became impatient to know Zen's great art of winning because since childhood they always dreamt of becoming invincible. They gathered around Zen and pleaded, "Sir, if you tell us the secret of winning, we will be very thankful to you for the rest of our lives."

Zen smiled and replied politely, "Nobody can defeat me in my whole life because I have no intention to win".

Love can flower only where there is no intention to win. The mad desire to win itself is the reason for all the wicked and scheming behaviour patterns of the human psyche. Today, people carry out crimes against humanity in the name of patriotism, nationality, boundary, cult, group, religion, creed, family, private property and others. What is the meaning in spending time and energy for the finite pleasure of winning?

Sri Krishna says, "Blessed are pure in heart, for unto them is given the knowledge of God."

Space-time limitation of the static enlightenment!

Posted on Dec 23rd, 2007 by Chandra : Nucleus of the Absolute Chandra
There is a basic difference between the static philosophy and moving philosophy, static God and moving God, static science and moving science, and static tradition and moving tradition. Basavanna says, “There is destruction for what stands but not for that which moves”. Whenever nature gives birth to new wonders in the world within science, religion, tradition and others, it represents a moving character. Yet, this moving character will not last for a long time because of our static way of thinking. Whenever new research has emerged in the history of humanity, it has maintained moving character in the beginning but slowly lost the beauty of the moving character because of our minds’ orthodox interaction. Nevertheless, the transformation of moving character to static character occurs only in the human mind, not in nature. In the western world, there is now a spiritual madness to dig out all the static philosophies of ancient history. Some are talking about Tantra, some are talking about Yoga, some are talking about Vastu, and some are talking about mediation and so forth. In fact, they are searching for the static shelter to compensate or to define their own lethargic way of life. Our ancient Sages, Buddha, Krishna, Jesus, Rama, Prophet and other prominent spiritual personalities emerged with moving philosophy, not with a static one. But who made it static? Ask yourself! Which philosophy, science, religion, culture, god and tradition are you representing? Is it a static one or a moving one? Vivekananda says, “Faith is not a belief; it is the grasp of the ultimate as illumination”.
